Save the Inventor reached out to inventor Brandon Adams to learn more about his passion for innovation, what’s next for him, and what advice he has for fellow inventors.
STI: What drives you to invent?
BA: The determination to create something that solves problems, makes life easier for others, and the mindset of being able to create something that could be the next big idea that changes the world forever. The process of seeing an idea come to life is exhilarating and the thought of being able to change the world is priceless.
STI: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced with your invention/patent?
BA: One thing is for sure, nothing is for sure. During the development and manufacturing of ArcticStick things always seemed to go wrong, but I’ve realized that’s part of the journey. I've had more obstacles then most but these obstacles have made me stronger as an individual and entrepreneur. The hardest part by far has been being able to fund my idea on my own without investors. From the beginning I made it my mission to do this on my own, which I have done by working extra jobs, putting everything I have into my idea, and having success with crowd funding. If you want something bad enough, you will find a way to make it happen!
STI: What’s next for you?
BA: Besides selling ArcticStick to the masses, I plan to help others with their ideas or getting the money they need with their ideas through crowd funding. ArcticStick has led me to much success in other areas as well. My journey with ArcticStick has made me realize that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. I want to share that message with others and help them with their ideas and businesses. I went on to found the University of Young Entrepreneurs which led me to helping others through podcasting, online courses, crowd funding, speaking, writing a book, and appearing on TV all across the country. All of this has built up to me planning an entrepreneur event that will become the largest in the country. In April of 2016 I will hold the first "Young Entrepreneur Convention" which will have over 10,000 attendees. It all started with an idea I had the summer of 2011. ArcticStick is the creator of the empire I am building today.
STI: What would you tell other people who want to invent and obtain patents?
BA: Go after your dreams and don't let others decide your destiny. If you want it bad enough and believe in it then you will achieve it. They told me I couldn't, they told me I shouldn't, they told me I wouldn't, I'm here telling you how I did. The couldn'ts, shouldn'ts, and wouldn'ts can't define you. Only you can define you. Do what you love in life and you will become the most successful person you can possibly be. Don't be afraid of failure because failure is only the stepping-stone towards your success.
