As mentioned in our last blog post, four pro-patent bills have been introduced recently in Congress to address the weakened state of our nation’s patent system. Below are several steps you can take to encourage Congress to take action on this critical issue and to support efforts to strengthen patent protections for American inventors.
Send Your Representatives an e-Letter
Your voice matters to your representatives in Congress and it influences how they make many of their legislative voting decisions. If you haven’t already, click here to send your elected representative an e-letter that voices your support for the STRONGER Patents Act — our best option for protecting inventors’ IP rights.
Spread the Word on Social Media
Let your friends and family know that you support strong patent protections and that you believe in continuing the economic prosperity that 230 years of IP rights have afforded this country. And ask them to spread the word as well. You can also share this blog post by clicking one of the social media icons at the top of the post.
Support Diversity in Innovation
Did you know that there is a diversity gap in patenting and innovation in the U.S that’s potentially costing our nation 2.7% in GDP growth? You can help change this by hosting a stem program in your community, and by voicing your support for expanding access to patents for women, people of color and lower income populations.
